If your summer plans don't include jetting off to Southern Italy, don't worry — your taste buds can still take the trip. Scaddabush just launched its Taste of Calabria summer menu, and it's your summer vacation on a plate.
Running now through September 7, this limited-time menu is all about bold, spicy, authentic flavours straight from the Calabrian coast. Think smoky 'nduja sausage, hand-rolled fileja noodles, fresh citrus and dishes taught to the culinary team by actual Italian nonnas.
The menu features shrimp Tropea fileja, served "Mimma's way." Mimma is the generous Calabrian nonna who taught executive chef Gord Mackie and the Scaddabush team how to perfectly hand-roll the fileja noodles that make this delicious dish so authentic.
That's right, the team made the trip to Italy to meet with nonnas, farmers, cooks and more to learn what is at the heart of Calabrian cuisine and how to recreate it for you back home.

The Taste of Calabria menu features seven new dishes, three regionally inspired cocktails, and two featured wines. From spicy 'nduja spreads and fiery pizzas to shrimp-loaded pasta and a blood orange cheesecake, this summer menu brings the right touch of heat.
And if you're thirsty, Scaddabush has got you covered. There's a spicy blood orange margarita, a citrusy mojito made with bergamot and passionfruit and an Italian espresso martini that might just become your new favourite. They even offer a decaf version, so you can sip it at 9 p.m. and snooze soundly later.
The Taste of Calabria menu is available at participating Scaddabush locations across Ontario, but only for the summer. So if you're craving big Italian flavours, pasta made with the love only nonnas can share, and cocktails that feel like sunshine on the patio, you know where to go.
