Infi ne, sono stati introdotti schermi di ispirazione F1 (detti "wheel donuts") che carenano parzialmente i dischi freni e il cerchio con la duplice funzione di migliorare sia l'aerodinamica che il raffreddamento. La carrozzeria è stata rivista anche nei materiali, con largo uso di compositi e fi bra di carbonio, e nelle tecnologie, sfruttando la conoscenza acquisita nell'impiego dell'alluminio, al fi ne di ottenere raggiungere l'obiettivo di peso. Il materiale delle pastiglie freno è in fi bra di carbonio e consente un ridimensionamento della pinza a pari effi cacia. Il nuovo impianto carboceramico di tipo racing consente quindi spazi d'arresto ancor più ridotti ed una miglior effi cienza complessiva. Gli pneumatici di tipo slick (29/67 R19 Anteriori e 31/71 R19 Posteriori) sono montati su cerchi da 19 x 11J all'anteriore e 19 x 12J al posteriore e sono stati specifi camente sviluppati per la 599XX allo scopo di contribuire alla massimizzazione della stabilità in curva e all'aumento dell'accelerazione laterale. Winglets have been added to the rear buttresses to increase downforce and synthetic jets have been incorporated into the rear of the car to control and smooth the air fl ow and reduce drag. Ferrari's engineers have used F1-derived "doughnuts" which partly cover the brake discs and wheel rim. These have the dual function of improving both aerodynamics and brake cooling. Composites and carbon-fi bre have been widely used in the bodywork and the engineers drew on their experience in working with aluminium to reach the target weight. The development of increasingly high-performance materials has also benefi ted the carbon-ceramic material braking system. The brake pads are now made from carbon-fi bre which means that the callipers are smaller whilst guaranteeing the same effi ciency. The new racing carbon ceramic braking system also delivers shorter braking distances and is generally more effi cient. The 599XX comes with slick tyres (29/67 R19 Front and 31/71 R19 Rear) specifi cally developed to maximise stability in cornering and increase lateral acceleration. They are fi tted to 19 x 11J wheel rims at the front and 19 x 12J at the rear.
